The book of B Krekic (
Dubrovnik... 1300-1600 ) tells us that a certain Silvestro
Barletto
,
bookseller in San Felice del Molise, succeeds in opening a bookshop in
the town of Ragusa in January 1568. For do that, it had to marry the
girl of
a certain Dominicus exerting the function of "musicus communis" in
Ragusa.
This arrangement was made possible thanks to the financial support of
Ragusa in the form of a loan for its installation and the payment
of the dowry.
These some lines tell us that the links were strong between the
Molise
and Balkans thanks to the economic center of Ragusa. It was thus not
too
difficult for refugees to cross the Adriatic while benefitting from the
maritime trade of Ragusa (let us recall that Ragusa has already
established
a maritime treaty with the town of Termoli since 1203).
